Scientific Programme Committees: IRCAI experts’ group on United Nations SDGs

A set of independent Scientific Programme Committees are being created around the different Grand Challenges for approaches to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that make use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

These are the fora in which individual projects will be reviewed, approved for adoption by the centre, and prioritized for funding. They will be formed from the domain experts as well as appropriate AI experts. They will also help to identify promising avenues for tackling the chosen Grand Challenges with novel AI approaches and where appropriate defining calls for proposals to address the opportunities identified. This work resulted in creating the Opinion Series with accompanying reports and white papers that were edited by the Chairs of the Programme Committees. Currently there are five such PCs created for the most pertinent post COVID-19 issues on the list of SDGs, namely:

AI & Ethics

AI & Healthcare

AI & Education

AI & Circular Economy

AI & Climate Change

AI & Assistive Technologies

AI & Water Resources Management
