International Artificial Intelligence Policy Transfer Help Desk
IRCAI is setting up National Contact Points network across 193 UNESCO Member States in order to setup help desks
at the country level to provide policy support to governments.
The UN Secretary-General’s Roadmap for Digital Cooperation underlines the need for establishing regional digital help desks to support countries in addressing their policy and capacity building needs for digital transformation.
The report recommends, “The establishment of regional and global digital help desks to help governments, civil society and the private sector to understand digital issues and develop capacity to steer cooperation related to social and economic impacts of digital technologies.
“Building upon its technical capacities, networks and knowledge base, IRCAI aims support national governments in their digital transformation journey through three services:
1. Needs assessment and policy mapping
2. Policy advice for the development of national digital transformation policies
3. Capacity building support and trainings for government officials to implement national digital transformation plans.
IRCAI’s digital help desks will operate within the framework of North-South, South-South cooperation and will partner with different UN agencies and regionalorganisations.
