About

FAME project aims to unlock the full potential of the data economy. By developing a secure, federated, decentralized, and energy-efficient data marketplace, FAME will facilitate the trading and integration of data assets, including datasets, AI/ML models, and more, across interconnected data providers. The project will create Europe’s first federated data marketplace for embedded finance (EmFi), driving innovation and regulatory-compliant data exchanges. It will also offer cutting-edge analytics and learning resources for both technical and non-technical users to fully engage with the data economy.

What is the problem the project is addressing?

The rapid growth of data in various industries calls for innovative solutions for secure data management, trading, and analytics. Current centralized cloud marketplaces are limited in their scalability and energy efficiency. Additionally, data exchange often lacks transparency, trust, and interoperability across different platforms, making it difficult to fully unlock the potential of the data economy. FAME addresses these challenges by creating a decentralized and trustworthy infrastructure that supports secure, interoperable, and energy-efficient data exchanges, particularly for the embedded finance sector.

How is it solving the problem?

FAME is developing a federated, decentralized data marketplace that integrates data assets from multiple providers, enabling efficient and secure trading and monetization. Using blockchain tokenization and high-performance, energy-efficient analytics, FAME ensures trustworthy transactions and analytics. The project will implement smart contracts to facilitate data asset trading and pricing, using innovative technologies such as Quantitative Explainable AI (XAI) and Situation Aware Explainability (SAX) to provide transparency and trust. Additionally, FAME will establish a Learning Center to empower users and foster a sustainable data economy.

Expected Tangible results

FAME aims to develop and launch Europe’s first decentralized and energy-efficient data marketplace for embedded finance. By connecting with over 12 data marketplaces, FAME will demonstrate the potential of federated data ecosystems and promote the wider adoption of emerging technologies in data analytics and blockchain.

Innovative blockchain tokenization techniques for data asset trading, including value-based pricing and NFTs.

A vibrant community of stakeholders around the FAME platform, ensuring the sustainability and growth of the data economy.
A Learning Center for both technical and non-technical users, promoting wide adoption and education in the data economy.
