General description of the AI solution

As part of the EU’s net zero plans, policymakers have launched new sustainable finance regulatory frameworks, including the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), the EU Taxonomy for Sustainable Activities, and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), to fight against greenwashing and incentivize companies into accelerating their sustainability transitions. However, both businesses and financial institutions are caught in a costly and ambiguous regulatory limbo, which prevents the effective implementation of EU's sustainable finance policy, limits access to clear ESG data, and causes investments to be misallocated.

By automating SFDR and EU Taxonomy analysis, Briink's NLP-based solution aims to correct this imbalance and ease the burden on businesses and financial institutions. Our functionalities can be integrated through APIs to safely collect pertinent ESG data from various datasets and unstructured sources. This streamlines the process of evidence-gathering, and enables financial institutions and enterprises to test baseline inclusion with the SFDR and EU Taxonomy fast. It also offers more in-depth alignment analysis for individual businesses and whole portfolios.
