General description of the AI solution

Minerva is a ground-breaking UK wide AI platform for people suffering online abuse, including harmful content and intimate image abuse. It is a unique partnership between an award-winning online safety charity, The South West Grid For Learning (SWGfL) and development specialists, Rascal Ventures. We are creating an AI web app that enables victims of online and offline abuse to capture and record of incidents through evidence collection and seek effective guidance and solutions. By analysing key words and patterns in submitted user text, the system will signpost users to the most appropriate support and escalation routes. The platform will complement our existing practitioner-led helplines, ‘Revenge Porn’ and ‘Report Harmful Content’. By training the system over time, it will build a powerful data set, that can be used to understand links between harms, and provide support when users need it most. This solution demonstrates an innovative approach to addressing the increasing problem of online intimate image abuse, threats, and other related harms. It empowers people to seize control, report crimes, reduce mental health impacts, and rebuild their lives.
