General Description of the AI tool
The current climate crisis induced by the effects of global warming has significantly increased the frequency and intensity of wildfires globally. These events pose significant risks to human and animal lives, disrupt ecosystems and destabilize socio-economic conditions. The proposed AI system monitors wildfire events and produces accurate burn scar mappings in a fully automatic way. This will enable authorities and researchers to assess the scale of the event, identify the impacted assets and prioritize resources effectively for the proper restoration of the damaged region.
